This page is attended to list the instruments that you will have at your disposal during QEM time.

All of these equipments are settled there for you, attendees of the school. Please take benefit of it by bringing (or sending) your samples to give a try !

Warning : for a demo on remote machines, you will need to send your samples in advance at the right place, so anticipate for it !

You do not have a sample ? The microscopes and other intsurments are mostly there for the practicals sessions so you will your hands on it ! Moreover, all our partners will make some demos of the machines all along the school.

Electron Microscopes :

• JEOL is installing on-site a F2 Microscope:
  • 200kV, Cold FEG source, fitted with a HR pole piece and a double EDS detector (1.7 sr), SEI/BEI detector

• Gatan is providing on this machine 
  • a RIO CMOS post-column camera along with STEMx system (for 4DSTEM)
  
  
  • a Continum GIF fitted with a CMOS 4k camera

• Thermofisher Scientific is providing 2 microscope (1 per week) during the School time in remote access:
  • a ILLIAD 300kV, X-CFEG source, Probe & Image correctors (S-CORR), S-XTRM EDX detector, CETA S post-column camera and Illiad EELS filter.
  
  
  • a TALOS 200kV, X-CFEG source, 4k Panther STEM and Super X-G2 EDS detector, CETA S post-column camera and Gatan Continum filter
    
• Tescan is provinding a STEM dedicated machine during the school time in remote access :
  • a TENSOR, 100kV Schottky-FEG source, analytical STEM with DIrect Electron detection and native Electron Precession capabilities

• Protochips will make available some in-situ holder for the JEOL microscope :
  • a POSEIDON holderfor liquid studies TEM
  • a FUSION holderfor biasing and heating TEM

Sample Preparation :

• Gatan will install a PIPSIIsample polishing system
  • For knowing how to prepare your sample there, Cécile prepared a nice documentation that you may found there.
    

• Gatan will also provide a PECSIIsystem for perfect surface preparation.

• JEOL will also bring its Ion Cleaner for ideal sample observation

• a NANOS tabletop SEM will be installed by EDEN Instrument for quick analysis of chips and samples

• a ALLIED Multipreppolisher is made available by PFNC (CEA Grenoble)

• a full optical microscope platform will also be made available by Leica
